Be Empowered
Nefertiti Harris is a wife, mom, educator, specialist and entrepreneur. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and later moved to Virginia to attend College. After getting married, she moved to Florida and now resides in Mississippi with her husband and children. Ever since she was a young girl, her dream was to become an educator. She has a Master of Science in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish. She is certified in the areas of General Education, Special Education, has a Reading Endorsement, and is graduate of Susan Barton’s “Screening for Dyslexia” graduate level course.
With over 21 years of experience in the realm of education, Mrs. Harris has been a Tutor, a General Education Teacher, a Teacher of students with special needs, a Reading Interventionist and a Reading Specialist for grades K-12. Many years of her educational journey have been spent working with at-risk youth, who were attending Title-One schools and/or Drop Out Prevention programs. It is through her years in education and varied experiences with students, parents, and other educators that she saw the need for a business like, I Empower, LLC. Her heart is to help others and equip them with knowledge that will change their lives and help them to, in turn, change the lives of others with whom they interact.
